It’s been a big year for Corral—in the 10 months since we launched our pilot, volunteer testers have engaged with the platform, provided feedback, and our team has been hard at work on improvements to make Corral a more effective tool for Tribal sovereignty.
As we approach the 1-year mark, we wanted to take a moment to share what we’ve accomplished so far, and give you a peek into what’s still to come.
Here’s what we’ve accomplished so far.
Since January, we’ve:
Created a beta version of Corral for those who signed up to test. They have provided incredible feedback to make the platform even better!
Hosted two wonderful interns—Al Brown (MIT) and Ella Tetteh (Emory Oxford). Al helped us with some design work while Ella is assisting with data validation for the platform.
Added a new team member—big welcome to Emily Curran, our Database Manager! She has reviewed hundreds of Tribal Consultations to ensure accuracy on the platform.
Launched calendar view, a function that allows users to change how they view upcoming Tribal Consultations, toggling between a list and a monthly calendar.
Upgraded our notifications system to make it even easier for users to get curated updates based on agency, date or policy area—by weekly digest or anytime a new Consultation is published.
Here’s what’s next.
We’re adding Tribal Consultation tracking for four more federal agencies, prioritized by our core users. If you want to test out Corral, please reach out!
As always, thank you for your support and interest in helping us advance Tribal sovereignty.
Consultation Corral is a free online platform that helps Tribal leaders and Native advocates easily find and track Tribal Consultation opportunities in one place.
